During the evening of this Veterans Day, a nice aurora appeared in the skies over Connecticut. This aurora was predicted earlier in the day because of strong solar activity, and many people went out to look for it. My fellow members of the Astronomical Society of New Haven observed and photographed this event from various locations around the state. As usual, I did my observing from my backyard in Killingworth. From here, the dominant colors were reds and greens.
