Galaxies in Pisces

NGC 507 is an elliptical galaxy that appears as a featureless circular patch with a brighter center in a typical backyard telescope. The area of sky within a 1/4 degree radius around NGC 507 contains at least a dozen galaxies that are within the range of large amateur telescopes. 13 NGC galaxies and 5 IC galaxies are identified in the image. They exhibit a wide variety of sizes and shapes.
