Two years earlier, in April 2024, we watched a dramatic total eclipse of the Sun from St. Albans Bay, Vermont, on the shore of Lake Champlain. This time, on August 12, 2026, we tried to observe a partial solar eclipse from the same location.

There were many clouds and some showers during the eclipse, but we were able to catch a few looks through some breaks in the clouds. This image was taken at at 1:47 pm EDT, which was close to the time of maximum eclipse in our location. Some sunspots are visible here and there.
