This was one of the most spectacular auroras I have ever seen. The predominant colors were blue and white. What made it so unusual for me was that the streaks and pillars of light were flickering very rapidly, like neon lights. I have never seen such rapid activity in the northern lights. Reflections of the aurora could be seen in the calm water of Lake Champlain. My pictures were disappointing, and I must have used the wrong exposure times or f ratio. In the two pictures shown here I tried to mimic the colors I saw, but they don't even come close to showing what it reallyt looked like that night.
