With the Kp index around 8 on its scale of 0-9, we were hoping to see a more dramatic auroral display this night than we did. The auroras were very impressive from other parts of the world. Here in Killingworth we saw a faint pink glow to the north, but nothing spectacular. The camera showed the colors much more clearly. Although we did not see a great display, we were happy to see what we did on this cold January night.
